When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer I was taken back pretty hard; recently I have met many others who have endured so much more than I can imagine I began to feel like that guy who was sad because he had no shoes. Last week I met a man from Alaska, who has undergone big time treatments and bucked all the odds. This man reminded me of a piece of weathered teak, a little worn & grey around the edges but inside is strong and enduring and I could tell his journey is far from over.
My goal for this site is to be an inspiration for others, this man is the true inspiration and a shining example of the survivor spirit, just as the many others like him I haven’t met yet. It’s not often I stand humbled in the company of others, my deepest and most heartfelt prayers have been redirected from my personal concerns to Don and to all who come face to face with their mortality and decide that God has the final say, not a disease.
