Alternative therapies

As useful information arises it will be posted here; if you have suggestions please send them, they will be researched and appropriately placed. If you have a situation that you prefer not be posted to a public venue just send me an email and I’ll be happy to assist in any way possible.

Unfortunately there is more money in being sick than in being well, for this reason it is a wide belief that certain greed based pharmaceutical companies influence the FDA and try to squelch more affordable treatment options. After my diagnosis I did an exorbitant amount of research into alternative treatments, below are listed a few treatment options that bear investigation. Remember one thing, our uniqueness is one of our biggest assets as well as a serious detriment; what works well for one person may not be as effective for another.

Often for a biopsy antibiotics are prescribed (always for prostate biopsy) but one tidbit of information that is mostly neglected is that these antibiotics attack all the bacteria, even the helpful ones. This dramatically increases the risk of a different type of infection so when you have to take any type of antibiotic it is always a good idea to go pick up a bottle of acidophilus, this is the good bacteria that is also in yogurt.

Hydrogen peroxide has been known to effectively attack tumors; there are a number of ways to ingest it; food grade hydrogen peroxide is most widely suggested but it is tough to come by. Food grade peroxide is a 35% solution and if this is used should be diluted to a 3.5% solution. I just went to the local drug store and bought a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, check the ingredients and it is usually a 3% solution and distilled water. This can be put into bath water and absorbed through the skin or a few drops can be put in a glass of water and drank. I purchased a nasal pump, dumped the spray out & filled it with hydrogen peroxide and inhaled it through the mouth. If you use this method make certain that you don’t inhale it through the nose, just use it like an asthma inhaler.
Before you use this method or any other it is always a good idea to do some research and decide if this is right for you.

Laetrile is another treatment that is known to attack cancer, this comes from apricot seeds and it is unavailable to purchase in the U.S. It is available over the internet, www.apricotpower.com is the site I used to buy it from. There are a number of foods that contain laetrile, also known as vitamin B17. The big problem with laetrile is the cost, about a hundred dollars a bottle ($1 a pill) but apricot seeds are available in the U.S. and are much more affordable and can be found in a number of health food stores or at the web site above. Again, if you consider this option check it out thoroughly first.

Sea water, or the salt in sea water is also detrimental to cancer and there aren’t many warnings or complications with this form of treatment (except undertows) and it is relaxing as well.

Reiki has been a life saver for me, and I would advise it for anyone who desires to improve their health. A wonderful thing about Reiki is that you don’t have to believe in it for it to work. This modality of healing has long been shunned by the medical community however it is being accepted more in mainstream healing because of the overwhelming percentage of success behind its use. A few hospitals are even hiring Reiki practitioners to work on patients!

Ayurveda, known as the “science of life” in ancient Sanskrit, has been a key part of a comprehensive natural healthcare system in India and Sri Lanka for over 2000 years. The basic tenet of Ayurveda is that health conditions should be treated with holistic, natural therapies tailored to the needs of each individual. In addition to treating the physical body with Ayurvedic herbs, Ayurveda focuses on balancing the mind and spirit to achieve inner harmony.
Ayurveda teaches that each person is a blend of three doshas, or vital energies within the body - Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each person is born with an optimal balance and a unique harmony among the three doshas. Later in life, negative health may arise from an imbalance in the three doshas - and the science of Ayurveda is used to bring back this essential harmony.
Unlike Western medicine which is typically used as a reactive mechanism to fight disease once it occurs, Ayurveda is used to strengthen and nourish the body before the advent of negative health conditions. Ayurvedic practitioners typically recommend a natural course of herbs, diet, exercise and meditation to bring harmony back to the individual. This may be accomplished with a regimen of detoxification/purging herbs to initially rid the body of negative toxins followed by beneficial herbs which focus on bringing the three doshas back into balance. In returning the mind, body and spirit back to its original dosha balance, Ayurvedic practitioners believe that an individual is better able to withstand future illnesses and adverse health conditions while living a more pleasant, harmonious life.
